Thanks for filing that bug report.

BTW, there's also a related, pending pkg-config feature
request that I started more than a year ago. It's about
supporting "Cflags.private" in addition to "Libs.private",
which would simplify (and often even remove the need for)
a good part of the MXE patches:

Maybe some more comments could help there, too.
