I agree with Goswin, use some "state keeping" and allow outgoing
connections, best thing to do unless you have a bunch of users not
trustworthy.

Protocol specs would be great indeed, since mldonkey has added more to the
original protocol, it would be easyer to configure firewalls, btw i'll add:
UDP 4666 in, i have no idead of what it does, but it's opened by mldonkey
