Offtopic, but I had to share this.
In Brazil, less than 10 years ago, it took 4 years to have an analog phone 
line installed. And the cost was so much that you had to declare it as a 
"property" when paying income taxes, just like a bank account or a car.

Now, finally, it takes just a few weeks in major cities, and with DSL.
