i think you are somewhat fooled by this project's rather fuzzy release situation. it is fairly self evident for any software project that releasing new features everyday is nothing strange, but directing these in binary form to the general public is probably counter productive, since it surely just adds to the confusion and makes bug handling and performance analysis very hard. there's nothing official about the packages you mention (i think), but if you are really eager to run current and thus be a part of the development process, then a cvs checkout should do you good. totally clueless bug reports are generally useless. As a user, I first downloaded the 2.5.9 package. Days after, 2.5.10. Then 2.5.11. And, finally, the 2.5.12 one, about 14'5 megabytes in total. Then I thought "I'm sure the differencies between each release are pretty small, and is a waste to download so much redundant data". So I tried xdelta with them, with the next results:
and by the way, i think that if you find downloading 15 MB every couple of days hard (and i assure you, that over time it's more like every couple of weeks), then you should probably question your need for mldonkey in the first place.
adding binary diffs as a third distribution method will surely add to confusion, and take away problem solving focus from what's really important.
