I noticed you said "anymore".  What version of mldonkey are you running
now?  Did it stop working after you upgraded Safari, mldonkey, or OS X?
Or all of the above?

mldonkey 2.5.16 seems to work fine in konqueror, which shares a
significant amount of code with Safari, not sure about the javascript
implementation though.
