In general, I very much appreciate the whole effort of getting rid of
all the 3rd party stuff we carry around.
I wonder though, whether we are going to loose the ability to build on
older/long term support distributions. For example, RHEL5 has pcre 6.6,
and (through the EPEL add-on repository) boost 1.33.1. So, building
monotone 0.43 for EPEL will cause some headache, I fear (and the same
might hold for other lts or server distributions).
