doesn't this miss the point? It is not that scientists want to "hey, Duncan, I'm squirting something in a test tube" kind of teenage exchange. Rather, it is the openness aspect of teenag twiter that is the point. the "open" exchange of views, data, protocols, through some new technoogy is all in keeping with supposed scientific openness.

Some interesting points raised, and it's a reasonable critique of the pros and cons of "Science 2.0", e.g.

"Scientists do not interact like teenagers chatting or rock bands reaching out to their fans. "myspace for scientists" is a poorly thought out model for the culture of scientific research
