Syntax highlighting is complicated and eats resources, and those who don't
need/want it either turn it off in configs or don't compile the feature into
nano. Word completion dictionaries and "project mode" would be opt-in like
syntax highlighting. In its current state, the feature is only partially
functional, and many more users would find it useful when it can acquire words
from external sources.
