        AC_CHECK_LIB(pthread, main)

        shortly after 

        AC_CHECK_LIB(crypt, crypt)

        in configure.in + ./bootstrap + ./configure again

        Let us know if that works. Sending a cvs diff -u of the change
will allow Nevrax to integrate it within short delays.
