In my opinion Vianney is correct compiling NeL is vital to gaining some much needed understanding of it.

if you have problems compiling post the problems here or come to the NeL irc chat and people will

help you, i personalyl and its just my opinion dont think precompiled binaries are an effective idea for

NeL.

 

Also NeL changes rapidly the cvs is very active and precompiled binaries would become horribly out of

date very quickly unless a lot of time was spent maintaining them.

 

So Emmanuel & Abigail come into IRC and talk to me and some of the others who have nel compiled

and we will help you get it done. :)

I've tried for a while, as Abigail, to compile NeL and I gave up cause of some compilation errors.

 

I think delivering binaries and some "hello world" style applications could be a good solution for beginners to start with NeL, and also a good solution to spread NeL and make it more known.

You say you dont have enough time to supply the binaries, maybe we, the community developpers, could do so ?

We actually don’t supply binaries because we don’t have enough time to do that and we believe that the compilation process is necessary to understand better the NeL architecture.

Be sure you read the INSTALL file in the root of the NeL directory.
