I'm thinking it's time to declare a break and say "anything beyond the tag we 
laid down today will break things."  We have needed to do that for a while now. 
 But we must declare a branch at that point, if only to push forward bug and 
security fixes for the people not ready or able to leap onto the new head we 
declare.
