Follow-up Comment #2, bug #39822 (project octave):

Tab works for me (tab completion).

I do see that it depends on the TERM environment variable as to whether
INS,HOME etc work correctly.

So should we explicitly set the TERM variable within the GUI (when in Windows
GUI mode) so we have a consistent reaction to key presses?
