Follow-up Comment #21, bug #40607 (project octave): If we do decide to fix this problem by modifying the flag that controls precision of intermediate floating point ops, then should we worry about the possibility of some other code setting them (anyone can do it). It seems like setting the fp flags for every operation 64-bit operation that uses floating point math to work would be slow. But maybe we have no choice?
