Details:

Every time I start the GUI the file browser widget gets wider and wider,
forcing the command window panel to get narrower and narrower.

I deleted my ~/.config/octave directory and started fresh. I dragged the file
browser to the right of the command window. After each exit and restart of the
GUI the width of the file browser gets larger and the command window gets
narrower.
