Follow-up Comment #3, bug #40689 (project octave): Do I understand correctly that the cs is required only for being able to run ./run-octave from a build dir? Starting octave-gui(.exe) of octave-gui-3.7.7+(.exe) indeed avoids the extra cmd32.exe window.
