Follow-up Comment #3, bug #40962 (project octave):

I am using unity and have the effect (not only with octave) that an
unmaximized application restarts maximized when the window exceeds a specific
size. Using your settings on my system (1200x800) I have to enlarge the window
just for a few pixels and octave restarts maximized. 

Does the effect also occur when you are using a smaller window size?
