                  Status:                    None => Confirmed

Follow-up Comment #2:

Confirmed.  This is a regression between 3.6.4 and 3.8.0.  It should be a
simple m-file fix to use repmat to expand the normalization constant to match
the input number of columns.  I added it to the list of Short Projects on the
wiki (http://wiki.octave.org/Short_projects#Bugs).
