Follow-up Comment #14:

With the last fix all Java-based functions in the io package work.
I tested, after invoking chk_spreadsheet_support() to load the required Java
class libs, using
- "io_ods_testscript ('uno')"  ## just checks UNO interface; OK
- test_spsh  ## tests all available interfaces; all worked fine.

I'd say just push you patch.

In the mean time I've changed some fields in the bug report, hope you don't
mind :-)
