Follow-up Comment #1, bug #47245 (project octave):
As a work-around, these can be deleted manually.
On a Linux system, edit ~/.config/octave/qt-settings to remove everything
after the "=" in the line "mru_file_list=...".
I'm not sure where the corresponding file is on Windows, but I assume there is
one.
