Follow-up Comment #11, bug #49626 (project octave):

I also cross-built with gsl-2.2.1. 
The only warning I get is 


warning: octave_config_info is obsolete and will be removed from a future
version of Octave, please use __have_feature__ or __octave_config_info__
instead.
