Follow-up Comment #20, bug #53539 (project octave): Mike, You misread my post. I was not talking about the file being reported as modified but about the file being reported as having a timestamp in the future. In fact my problem has nothing to do with the editor, although that is what I foolishly thought initially. It is to do with the interpreter monitoring changes to files in the octave path using services that are TZ-dependent. As far as I can see it is a new problem and needs a new bug report.
