Follow-up Comment #14, bug #54235 (project octave):

I did just notice, though, that in the previous config.log that you shared,
gcc and g++ are both version 4.9.2, but gfortran is version 5.5.0. Not good, I
believe this may be one of the sources, or the primary cause, of the name
conflict and multiple inclusion errors you are running into. Please make sure
all gcc/g++/gfortran packages are the same version, preferably the highest
version available.
