Follow-up Comment #1:
The 'epstool' subfunction in print.m requires ghostscript_binary to be valid,
it runs it with the '-h' option immediately at the start of the function, this
is where the error comes from.
The twists and turns of this subfunction are confusing, I don't think
ghostscript is actually required in all cases where epstool is, but the
function should work correctly in the case when epstool is present but
ghostscript isn't. Whether that means throwing an error unconditionally or
adding more logic to work around that case, I can't say.
