Hello octave maintainers,

may I kindly remind you of my open changesets:

add a remark regarding line width within @example environments to
the contribution guide:
http://www-old.cae.wisc.edu/pipermail/octave-maintainers/2008-October/008999.html
Applied..

add a bzip2 function (and moves the functionality common with gzip() into
a new function __xzip__):
http://www-old.cae.wisc.edu/pipermail/octave-maintainers/2008-November/009356.html

Given that the changes you made were also approved by John, I applied this one as well.

correct a small texi bug in the documentation string of subplot.m:
http://www-old.cae.wisc.edu/pipermail/octave-maintainers/2008-November/009381.html
Applied.

no longer remove white space before @ commands within @example environments:
http://www-old.cae.wisc.edu/pipermail/octave-maintainers/2008-November/009388.html
I don't believe there is a strong dependency on PERL in the build process at the moment. But this change will make it so that the build will fail without PERL. This patch therefore needs a bit of discussion before it is applied.

update of the strings chapter of the octave manual:
http://www-old.cae.wisc.edu/pipermail/octave-maintainers/2008-November/009482.html

Applied.
correct bug in unpack() regarding handling of cell string input:
http://www-old.cae.wisc.edu/pipermail/bug-octave/2008-November/007302.html
Applied.

make the behaviour of char() regarding empty strings matlab compatible:
http://www-old.cae.wisc.edu/pipermail/bug-octave/2008-November/007366.html
I applied the easy patches you sent above, though its not obvious to me this is the right solution, and I don't have time to really check today.. Any comments from others on the validity of this patch?

Regards
D.

thanks and regards

Thorsten
