Hey Matias!

I am glad you like to help us out! Actually, I am xhoch3 =)

At this time it is difficult for me to delegate jobs, so that we do not stand on each other's feet. It's difficult to say what can be done, since I barely know you and you capabilities, but what we need most is:

- experienced Qt developers for the core application.
- experienced Windows developers for the Windows version, especially a build chain for Windows for octave and the gui (*)
- testing of the gui in practice (*)
- recrution of more developers (*)

(* important)
If any of these does not apply to you, we can still find something. It would be a good idea if you frequently visit #octave on FreeNode, this is usually where the devs meet!

Thank you for mail,
Jacob (xhoch3)

The current source can be found at:

If you're not familiar with Mercurial ("hg"), this would be a good point for a start. There are lots of tutorials on the net:

Hi, I’ am vector (Matias) and in the last days I been connected to the channel, ( all people know, that my English is not good enough, but I’ll try to express myself).
I write this mail because; I have been in contact with the developers on GUI octave (Jordi and xhoch3), they contacted me from the list of qtOctave and we want to start to develop for.
Jordi and xhoch3 told me to about the development of GUI octave and I’m very interesting to join in, but we are new in the develop of qt and in the community of free software development, for that reason we want a little develop or something like that to start.
We are three Uruguayan students of computer engineering, and we are very excited to join in the community, and we have been learning about Qt for it
