You can do the same thing I did with this changeset:

  http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/9f3ddb1ff2e3

Transplant it from default.  To do that, go to your stable tree and
execute the command

  hg transplant 0413227e407b

then push back to savannah.
