I think I'm receiving less mail after the merge into the maintainers
list, since we don't get the help requests there anymore.

Ok. I thought that the sockets package had another purpose, but after
talking about it on IRC, I understood its point is to provide a
low-level interface to sockets. It is not meant to be matlab
compatible ever which does not provide such thing.

I have created two separate mercurial repos for the packages, and
removed them from SVN.
