The help text for polar says that a complex value is interpreted such
that real(z) is the angle and imag(z) is the radius. So polar(i) should
indeed be at (0,1).
Yes, this is contrary to what rational people might expect, but my
understanding is it is intended to match undocumented Matlab behavior.
