The EBU Broadcast Wave Format (BWF) has a field for CodingHistory in the main  
chunk, and a newer addition for a Capturing Report in the Quality Chunk.   
Perhaps the EXR format could allow such attributes for those users who want to  
record the history of, e.g., capture in Cineon format, conversion to EXR, and  
any other transforms.  Bit depths, log/linear coding, curve breakpoints, etc.  
could be listed.  I assume that any such information would take a completely  
different format in an EXR file as opposed to a BWF file, but the concept  
should be possible to implement.
