Adrian Page recently committed EXR import capability to the KDE image editor
(Krita). It currently loads EXR images into a 32 bit floating point
colourspace, however I understand that he has plans to support a half (16
bit float) colourspace and export in the future. This will likely appear in
the next formal KOffice release, but is also available from the KDE
subversion repository.
Also, most Linux distributions with KDE 3.4 will support EXR import, but that
just pulls the image into a standard 8 bit RGB image. It does allow Konqueror
(the KDE web browser and general purpose front end) to display EXR images
directly from the web though.
