The /usr directory is mounted from the skel and is read-only. We have to use
the /usr/local dir.
Anyone has experience with relocatable rpm packages?
Do they work well?
If not, shall we make the spec files to configure the packages is
/usr/local/ and config files in /usr/local/etc and so on?
I'm in the process of making a stripped down skel with just enough packages
to start it. So far it will contain just sendmail and the util-linux
packages. There will be probably a sshd daemon too, but I'm planning to
leave out proftpd, apache, postgres, mysql, samba etc etc....
Dave.
