The former is used in the message correctness checks for obscure reasons[1],
and the latter is used to know which server to send the post to.
These headers are stripped out as the message is sent to the news server,
so the rest of the world doesn't see them.

[1] When counting the number of new lines in a message to give a
"this is mostly quoted text" or "this is *all* quoted text!" warning,
Pan strips the attribution out so that it's not counted as new content.
