The problem is, that as soon as you view it, \r will make it look as
if there is only a single line.
So try replacing \r with \n and have a look again:
seq 300 | parallel --shuf -j30 --bar '(echo {};sleep 0.1)' 2> baroutput
perl -pe 's/\r/\n/g' baroutput > barout
