   Seems like a good idea to me. It might be worth doing this to the filesystem
   interface as well. It might make it easier for people to write more fsys
   implementations or even user defined ones. Just a thought, someone correct

   I'm wrong :).

The current fsys interface allows the people to write fsys
implementations by using the fsys definition interface. It is (with
some minor modifications) the same strategy used by Adobe in their
Acrobat SDK.
