[Phpgroupware-developers] PHP3 compatibility

This is to all developers of core applications.
We have made a commitment to supporting PHP3, so all core apps need to
be coded to work in both PHP3 and PHP4. If you need a testing
environement, please let me know and I will make one avaible to you. It
is very important that we maintain PHP3 compatibility until the PHP team
gets off their butt and fixes the PHP4 license issue.

For non-core app developers, I encourage all phpGW developers to
maintain PHP3 compatibility as well, but I am much more flexible on
non-core apps, because phpGroupWare can still be useful without them (if
somewhat less so).

p.s. Angles please see what you can do about making email php3
compatible, and let me know if I can do anything to help. I did start
looking thru the code but am not sure why it gets the parsing errors. I
will continue to investigate as time permits and let you know if I find
the problem.
