[Phpgroupware-developers] Question regarding further development

Hallo all,

my name is Daniel Koller, and I'm currently planning (and preparing) the
usage of phpGroupWare as an "intranet"-tool for a sports event in 2004 in
Munich (www.eurogames2004.de). I ask you to comment on my questions
regarding further development of phpGW in order to see where we need own
development (which we will for sure give back to the project), and where the
project walks in the direction, where we want to go.

- For more efficient access rights management, I would propose to make also
groups able to get members of other groups. As far as I see the API, it
would then be needed to change the function for access control. This
modification would lead to a more simple management, because then you could
build up a group hierachy with perhaps predefined application settings etc.

- Calendar and RBS: Could you tell me the actual status of the RBS module? I
would see the best combination in calendar + rbs for i.e. if you determine a
meeting, you could also select a free room etc. Due to the fact that I
didn't see rbs in the RC4 distribution, I don't know what is going on with
this project.

- Filemanager: My idea is that we need a kind of small document management
system (storing documents in the database), with at least a better overview
over the existing documents and structures.

- Workflow: When I first saw the trouble ticket system, I was very impressed
by it. My intention regarding business processes to be implemented on the
top of tts was, that these two things not existing at the moment are
-- to be able to define free-text properties, (i.e. which project is
responsible for this invoice),
-- to be able to define a small workflow engine (with status held in the
tts fields.)

Could you please comment on these questions to get an actual status for
these issues,

Kind regards,

Daniel
