[Phpgroupware-users] Adding additional fields to addressbook?

Hello list,

I am new to this list and phpgroupware. I have spent the day searching
the archives
but can not find any information on how to add new contact fields to the
addressbook
application. For instance, I would like to add DOB, SSN, and case type
to each contact
in the addressbook. I would like these fields to be viewable from the
first page in 
addressbook, where it lists contacts. Also I would like these fields to
show when editing
and adding contacts. What is the best way to do this or is it even
possible. I have
added the fields to the phpgw_addressbook table. 

Do I need to hack the code to get the fields to show on main contact
list or is there a 
way to add custom fields to list of contacts. Where it lists fname,
lname, phone etc...
