For Windows.  Many Windows programs expect Windows line-ends, just as
most Unix programs expect Unix line-ends.

Well, that's the question.  I do not think that there is a "correct"
choice here, but there is probably a choice that will cause less user
confusion.  My guess is that using Unix line ends everywhere will
surprise users more than using native line ends by default.  But I'm
open to discussion.
