     John,

I know see what you mean, I need to write syntax to do the merge. I was
assuming it would be in the drop downs somewhere, like in SPSS. Gonna
have to read the manual to make sense on how to do it.

There's a very good tutorial at
http://www.ats.uda.edu/stat/spss/modules/merge.htm
All of the examples should work. If you find any that don't then please report
it
as a bug.

As for the copy/paste, even in the 0.7.5-g70514b compile for Windows, I
can not copy/paste 100%. I can only do one cell at a time. I need to
copy a whole column, of 516 records, but when I do that, it pastes them
all into which ever cell I click on in the other file. Even if I
highlight multiple cells, it will still just paste it into the first
     one.

Perhaps this is a Windows specific problem. It works fine on GNU/Linux.

The merge command is called MATCH FILES and so far as I know is
     identical to SPSS.
     See the manual for details.

Likewise, a copy/paste should also work. However since PSPP doesn't
currently support multiple datasets, it would be necessary to start two
instances of PSPP and copy between them.

          Hello,

I am trying to merge data from one .sav into another. In SPSS I
     could do
the Merge utility and everything worked fine. I do not see that
     here. So
I tried doing a simple copy/paste, but that too does not work...

Any other suggestion on how I can get variable 1 from file A to
     variable
          1 file B?

          Thanks
