hi,

i have qemu 0.6.1 and a debian host system. i started qemu like this:
address@hidden # chmod 666 /dev/net/tun
address@hidden # logout
address@hidden # qemu -hda debiansarge.img
Password:
Connected to host network interface: tun0

i have installed debian sarge as guest system before. on the host i have
a tun0 interface:
address@hidden # ifconfig tun0
ifconfig tun0
tun0 Protokoll:Ethernet Hardware Adresse 00:FF:58:37:D9:25
          inet Adresse:172.20.0.1 Bcast:172.20.255.255 Maske:255.255.0.0
          [...]

now, on the guest i setup networking:
address@hidden # ifconfig eth0 172.20.0.2 netmask 255.255.0.0 up
address@hidden # ifconfig eth0
eth0 Protokoll:Ethernet Hardware Adresse 52:54:00:12:34:56
          inet Adresse:172.20.0.2 Bcast:172.20.255.255 Maske:255.255.0.0
          [...]

the problem is:
address@hidden # ping -c1 172.20.0.1
PING 172.20.0.1 (172.20.0.1) 56(84) bytes of data
NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
>From 172.20.0.2 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable

--- 172.20.0.1 ping statistics ---
1 packets transmitted, 0 received, +1 errors, 100% packet loss, time 0ms
address@hidden #

can anyone confirm this? is something wrong with the emulated
realtek-network-device?
