OK but this is not what MAINTAINERS says:


           Odd Fixes:   It has a maintainer but they don't have time to do
                        much other than throw the odd patch in. See below.


I don't know what "See below" refers to.
But it does seem to imply maintainers don't have time to
review patches, so at some level, enabling fallback in
this case seems to make sense.
