yeah, I have wanted this feature too. There are apps which like to keep
a window on the screen but I rarely need to interact with. gaim and
xmms come to mind. Workspaces would solve this, but seem like overkill.
I propose the ability to drop windows from the list, and a variation of
select which will select a window from the 'banished' windows being the
only way to bring them back from purgatory. (or wherever they are)

just make it configurable, I sometimes like to mouse around in one frame
( like a web browser) while still keeping keyboard input focus on
another screen, like a vi session. however, this may not be always
possible with buggy/odd applications.
