Details:
In the man page, I couldn't find anything about the following two points:
1. What is the significance of a leading '/' in patterns? In rsync, it
means
the root of the transfer, not the root of the filesystem.
2. What is the significance of a trailing '/' in patterns? In rsync, it
means
match a directory but not a file.
Since rdiff-backup is using a pattern syntax "similar to (but different
from)"
to rsync, it would be good to spell out what those differences are if it's
not
unecessarily complex to do so. I have no idea what they are or I would send
a
patch.
