Oh goodness, I know that, I should respond to bug reports upon waking.

% rdiff-backup --version
rdiff-backup 0.13.4

I can't get the newest rdiff-backup without changing my whole system to Debian
unstable, so I guess we'll just assume that it's a fixed problem.  I tried
compiling from source but got errors, I probably have libraries that are too
old or something.  I've just about given up filing bug reports as long as I'm
running Debian stable because maintainers want me to report on the newest
version (and I can't blame them). but I gave up running unstable a year ago
because it lives up to its name, and Redhat was worse.  Bummer.
