This commit affects only the iOS client. I believe the explanation is that on
the Gnome client we allow initiating multiple calls because there is support
for merging those calls into a group call (by dragging one active conversation
onto another), whilst it is not yet possible to do so using the iOS client.
That said, I wouldn't expect that sharing a second connection with the same
person to be a valid use case. I will try reproducing it.
