Hi,
To modify .iso images on a windows box.
Goldenhawk.com has freeware that distributes with their dos trial
versions. The 16 bit version does not work with ide drives, only scsi,
so get the 32 bit version and run the programs from a dos box in
windows.
cd2file.exe - reads iso image from cd to file on hard drive.
file2cd - writes a new cd from the file
I helped a client with another freeware windows tool that would
extract and build the image files but I forget the name of it. I will
check with him.
At some point we should create one or more smaller .iso files to
perform a rule install without redhat cds. Maybe a text only with no X
and a text and graphics install with X. This is especially important for
downloaders of image files who cannot download 670M.
But that's still a step or two into the future. A good floppy install with
the CDs is an essential preliminary step and will always be the
easiest to download for someone who has the redhat cds.
Thanks,
Hairy Larry
