In the stock redhat kernel, cdrom support is modular.
The sbpcd module needs the cdrom module loaded first.

You probably need to 'insmod cdrom' before attempting to to insert the 
sbpcd module. That should make the dependency errors go away.

This doesn't affect the installer kernel, because cdrom support is 
compiled into the kernel, rather than modular.
