[Rule-list] no ppp support in install kernel? |

Hi, all,
I got the Red Hat 7.2 CDs but no cdrom drive usable with the Fujitsu Point
510 that I'm installing on. I wanted to try a network install over the
serial null modem cable that I use to connect the laptop to my desktop
machine. But there's no pppd binary or /etc/ppp/* files in the install file
system.
I tried extracting the pppd binary from the ppp-2.4.1-2.i386.rpm on the Red
Hat CDs, copying it to the laptop and running pppd from the busybox prompt
(after creating /etc/ppp/options) but I get the message "pppd file not
found". I take it there is no support for ppp in the install kernel?
Ah well, I still have the option of doing a hard-drive-based install...
TIA,
Ray
