It took me several tries before I got it working. If one machine is brough 
down, the slattach process needs to be restarted on the other. Basically, 
i brought up both machines, ran slattach on each, then brought up the sl0 
interface. Use ifconfig sl0 to see how the interface is configured. In my 
first attempts, it was always a point to point link back to itself.
(192.168.0.8 P-t-P 192.168.0.8) Obviously, a minor problem. :)

Not a dead end actually. I have a functional laptop, with very little free 
disk space at present. Details in another mail. Besides, I did it to 
learn how... Yeah, that's it. :)
