1) could you post the list of all the installed rpms here?
<snip>

Here you go! The file hasn't been scanned, so take it for what it's worth. If there is anybody uncomfortable with this, then email me off list and I'll cut and paste it for you into an email.

The list is only temporary. As I fiddle around with the system, I'll be able to figure out which other things we can remove for an absolute minimalist system. By "minimalist" I mean just a what it takes to boot to the bash prompt without the aid of a floppy disk, and then continue installation from there. The other rpms will remain in base_packages. In other words, I don't want to take things out of the base install, because I assume that Red Hat put them there to create a general operating system that suits most people most of the time. I only want to seperate the present base install package into minmal_package, and base_package.

Also, I found out that the install is actually smaller than I thought. It is approxv 131844 KB on the hard drive. I forgot to take into account the swap files that I had for installation. They were big, but I had room to spare. The next time I install, I'll make a bigger swap partition.

Sincerely, and with thanks,
Eugene T.S. Wong
